Victoria’s forest industries congratulate Lily D’Ambrosio and Mary-Anne Thomas on their new senior cabinet roles, Chief Executive Officer of the Victorian Forest Products Association (VFPA), Deb Kerr, said today.
Mary-Anne Thomas, former Minister for Agriculture and Minister for Regional Development, has been named Minister for the Department of Health and is expected to be sworn in today. Lily D’Ambrosio, Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change and Minister for Solar Homes, will become Minister for the Department of Environment, Planning, Land and Water.
“We commend Minister Thomas’ support for forestry during her time as Minister for Agriculture and her effort to support forestry workers’ rights. The Victorian forestry congratulates her on her new appointment,” said Deb Kerr.
“Victoria is a world leader in sustainable forest management and timber and fibre production, creating essential products that we all need, from new homes to furniture, paper, and sustainable packaging. As a strong and united industry, we look forward to an equally constructive relationship with Minister Thomas’ successor,” Ms Kerr concluded.
